BNA Officer Nominations

At the regular monthly meeting of the BNA this past Tuesday, four people were nominated as officers for the 2025-26 year. The election will be held at the next meeting, on May 13.

Here are the four nominees, with a little information about each one.

Director: Sarah Kaye
Sarah has lived in Briarcrest for 18 years and has served as the BNA Treasurer since 2015. She also organizes the City Council Candidates Forum in alternate years.

Assistant Director: Devra Gartenstein
Devra has been rooted in Briarcrest since 2014, since she moved her business, Patty Pan Cooperative, to the neighborhood. She’s been involved with the BNA since 2015 (including 2 Bylaws revision committees) and also serves on the board of the Shoreline Farmers’ Market.

Secretary: Alice Keller
Alice has lived in Briarcrest since 2008. She’s had various roles in the BNA since 2013: newsletter editor, Council of Neighborhoods representative, assistant director, and secretary.  Committee memberships: Storytelling, Emergency Prep, and 2 Bylaws revision committees.

Treasurer: Rachel Roberts
Rachel has lived in Briarcrest since 2018. She joined the BNA in the fall of 2024 and was on the 2025 Bylaws revision committee. She runs two small businesses and is familiar with bookkeeping and reporting requirements.

Please join us at 7pm on Tuesday, April 8 for our regular meeting! This one is online – we are hoping for a hybrid in-person/online meeting in June.

And at 7:30 we will welcome our special guest, Paige Scheid, City of Shoreline’s Sustainability Manager. She will present a new program, Pedal Forward Shoreline, which will provide around 100 free e-bikes to residents who live in a select area of Shoreline (some but not all of Briarcrest and Ridgecrest). Eligible Shoreline residents can apply for the program from now through April 25. For more information on the program, visit shorelinwa.gov/pedalforward.
